this is not a mountainbike...its a 7kW, 80V lightweight motorbike capable of 80km/hr or more and should not be used on XC trails ;)
two prototypes being built right now at Descendence HQ, check out the forum on endless sphere if you wanna know more!

Interesting looking frame. I can't quite tell but is the bb on the front triangle or the swingarm? I'm designing a similar project so this is really interesting to see!

the BB is on the pivot (it'll be a true concentric pivot swingarm for single speed use), the other tube behind it is just a stiffening tube like a welded yoke between the pivot plates. i thought it looked cool, and we dont really get much mud here in perth so i thought id do it Wink

Ah right fantastic. I am considering bb pivot as want single speed too but am thinking surely a tensioner would just be simpler... My main concern is I have never seen a bb pivot up close so do they have pinch bolts around the bearings or are they just molded and the bearings are press fitted?

yes they are a pain in the rectum to make no matter how you do it. the pinch bolts are usually nothing to do with the pivot itself but rather production budget (dont have to be so exact then...). but the trade-off is no ugly tensioner. yay!

Ah right ok fantastic. Will have a think about the pivot system....

Last question I promise! But how did you get a 5000w motor? And how do you keep that powered for more than 5 minutes, I currently have a 72v 1000w and batteries are hard to come by for it, having to run 2 36v ones currently and it drains power like nothing. I've never seen one more powerful than 3000w and that was nearly $1100!

you should start poking around on endless sphere brother...im overdriving a crystalyte hs4080 with a 21s5p li-ion battery made for me with 18650 cells, tho it'd be easy to make a cromotor/adapto build or use a TC hub to get up to around 12kW.
i made the frame able to fit a 21s10p battery, itd be fine for a 100km range @ 5kw. the reason i went thru this whole process is because it was too complex to get a bike like this, so basically im gonna sell the frame on my website with a precise list of instructions/suppliers/prices to build it yourself with no hassle. easy!
