And i dont have either hahaha, def need some kind of guide, i can tell already when the bikes in the granny gear, the chain isnt meshing onto the chainring cleanly at the top, need something to keep it in line with the chainring.....theres some seattube mounted options for a top guide, and some chainstay mounted guides to control the bottom...
I just ordered the Origin8 seattube clamp upper guide, looks like itll work, got it for 26 bucks USD off ebay....as for a lower guide...not sure yet, i dont wanna use that homemade thing i made lol, too ghetto
For sure, but something is needed on the top, when your in the granny gear, you can see how the chain isnt meshing onto the chainring perfectly....it would drop easy without a top guide to keep things in-line.... Bottom should be ok as is, if it becomes an issue ill look into one of the chainstay mounted lower guides.
I run the adapter with a threaded BB shell, but if you're running press fit, I imagine it would work….It's yours to experiment with at any rate…..let me know and I can meet you half way if you want it.
