NW ring? Clutch derailer? If so on both you won't need a guide. Not to shred Onterrible anyway...

And i dont have either hahaha, def need some kind of guide, i can tell already when the bikes in the granny gear, the chain isnt meshing onto the chainring cleanly at the top, need something to keep it in line with the chainring.....theres some seattube mounted options for a top guide, and some chainstay mounted guides to control the bottom...

Your guide looks great!!! You won't need a 40 rear unless you bump up to a 34-36t like you mentioned on the guide pics.

You can prob get away with just that as it wont bounce around as much as the dh bike

For sure, but something is needed on the top, when your in the granny gear, you can see how the chain isnt meshing onto the chainring perfectly....it would drop easy without a top guide to keep things in-line.... Bottom should be ok as is, if it becomes an issue ill look into one of the chainstay mounted lower guides.

I run the adapter with a threaded BB shell, but if you're running press fit, I imagine it would work….It's yours to experiment with at any rate…..let me know and I can meet you half way if you want it.
