Easy mate. Sorry to hijack your picture thread. I'm about to order a meta 4 frame and was planning to use my hope e4,s. There's no way you could get a twin pot to fit? Would putting a 203 rotor on give it enough clearance? Cheers for your help

 Hey.
No problem...
I tried loads of things to make it fit.
Tried the caliper straight on the frame (160 rotor) 183 mounts and a 203 mount. Non of which worked.
If frickin tight with an X2 caliper out back but it fits. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be up to the job but it's played out as a great rear brake. Easily enough power for a rear brake.

Im going to pick up last years yellow frame. I love the whole commencal yellow thing, so probobly black hope cranks, ring brakes, wheels ect. I havent seen many around either which is funny as it looks like the perfect frame to me.
im pretty sure itll ride how i want? Ive got an old commencal Furious and if you compare the geo its pretty similar. Only thing im not sure about are the 27.5 wheels but i guess theres not realy any choice anymore. To be fair ive never ridden a commencal i dont like though, somthing about the way they ride leaves me grinning like an idiot

You won't really notice any difference on 27.5. Only a tiny bit bigger than 26". Where do you ride?
Have you seen the picks of mine fully built?

I'm sure you'll love it, what shock you going for? Mine came with xfusion 02rl which was alright. Then I swapped it out for a Marzocchi 053, which is damn good.

That's good to here. Yes I've seen your bike and it looks good. Pretty much how I hope my build is going to work out. I'm pretty sure I'm going for a monach plus rc3 in the back and pair of the 160 lyriks on the front. I ride everywhere from Woburn to wales to Spain. If I can get the bike there I'll ride it. I guess o prefer old school freeride. Doubles drops ect

Your gonna love the frame.

im in north london. My girlfriends parents are in yapton not far from your neck of the woods so maybe ill get to ride that way one day. Yer i cant wait to get it built. The frame order will go through tomorrow. How long did yours take to arrive?
  • 10
Ahh cool. My gf is from Yapton as well. Small world haha.
Mine took ages to arrive as I'd preordered the V4. Then Commencal shipped it to the wrong address as well Facepalm
Kinda wish I'd gone for the yellow one now. Black is a little boring.
I'll show you around some trails if you've ever down here with the bike. Do you go to Surrey Hills ever?

Easy one more question. How tall are you and what size frame did you go for. There size chart says I should be medium. Would you trust it?
  • 10
I'm around 6'2" and went large and it fits pretty much perfect. How tall are you?
  • 10
Nice one thanks. I guess I'll get an x2 caliper then. You liking the bike? How is it at jumping?
  • 10
 I love it. Rides awesome.
What colour Hopes you putting on?
I've not had it off many jumps to be honest, or anything that big really. Maybe 10' gap biggest.

I've never seen another one out on the trails down south which is a surprise as the pricing is very competitive.

hey im 176 cm so pretty much bang on medium. I've never been a huge fan of the super long front centre either
  • 10
Yeah sounds like a medium would be spot on as the front is fairly long.
  • 10
thats cool im going for a 35mm stem anyway. 170 cranks as well to try and avoid peddle strikes
  • 10
Yeah the BB is pretty low. My pedals have smashed the ground a fair few times.

When's the frame coming?
  • 10
i have no idea. I have the order confirmation but no delivery details. but now the build can begin...
  • 10
Can you not run a bigger disc with post mount adapters?
  • 10
Tried a 183mm and two different adapters and they still touch Frown
  • 10
 X2 calliper then?
  • 10
Quite possibly. Still have one thing left to try before the X2
  • 10
I like it when they tuck the calliper away there, looks clean. Bit guff you can't get a proper 4 pot brake in there easily though!
