Light Blue Line = Park Trail

Green Line = high road, gnar

Cutting trail on park land is going to get us kicked out!

wait, what? well over half the trail out there is trail I personally groomed and "they" come in and just paint a blue line on the trees and called it a new trail. they get some boy scout level people to drop a couple wood bridge structures in and then they dip out never to be seen again. not to mention, the place is a complete mess in several areas.

It's one thing to maintain the existing trail for the park. It's another thing to start building a freeway/ cluster f*ck of a trail system. I believe there have been trails there sense the indians roamed the river. Also trying to keep this on the DL so it does not become popular.

love the banter --- RCF was under radar for more than 10 years --- people still to this day ask me where it is...and it's still somewhere in northern VA just like this place is/has been.

RCF is Private Property in the country. This is park land in suburbia. Big difference.

true true, good talking point but, if you really want to over think the whole thing --

1. all the peeps who live in the houses near by --- they're frikin clueless to the trails --- they're on FB, Instaperv, Wii, PlayStalker, closed in their big houses with the AC on high completely unaware of what going on outside. any random noise they might happen to hear, they shrug it off thinking it the landscapers

2. random people who might jog the trail, they're looking out for spider webs (just like we are), or looking 10, 12 feet in front of them cause they don't want to twist and ankle

3. Joe Hiker who might visit the place is an outta towner and has no bearing on anything since, let's be honest now, the main trail is pretty boring.

4. Ranger Rick --- I never seen any park peeps out there, not ever. not there, not the trail system Vaughn and I groomed up the stream a bit before the houses were dropped in.

5. only contact I had with the head cheese or the park system was very welcoming but, short and brief. my read on it, I highly doubt they actually give a hoot.. I have no idea what kind of work load they have but the fact the chick who is supposed to be the key figure out there, doesn't reply to 3 emails in which she was CC'd on. seems to me, she's either just totally blowing it off or actually isn't holding that position any more.

email 1 = hi, nice to meet you.. been talking to your boss, would like to chat more about it when you have time.....no reply
email 2 = oh and a follow up question .... bla bla bla.... CCing boss man.... no reply, not even an "out of office" auto reply
email 3 = err ahh, yo lady, did you get my first two emails?... CC'd boss man.... no reply

 6. if that TomFoolery under the bridges has gone un-checked for all these years... why would something like keeping a trail system nice create conflict?

7. everyone's on the same page about NOT turning it into another Lumber Yard with huge-ass pre-fab, wood structures.

8. being able to count on one hand how many other bikers I see out there during any given ride --- nuff said on that.

9. users in general, IMO, are pretty much clueless to anything out there besides the painted trail.

10. tequila!!!

do you ride with blinders on?

I look down the trail because of the speed I travel....I do not have time to stare at the flowers...
