Yeah kind of. I took the 1mm of the non drive side and put a 1.5mm spacer on. So thats a 2.5mm and a 1mm driveside and a 1.5mm non driveside. I tried with 2 x 1.5mm spacers but too much friction so I went wIth 2 x 1mm spacers and the slack is adjusted with the pre-load collar. But today I take off the 1mm spacer on the non driveside and add a 1.5mm spacer. Now the pre-load collar only needs to be tightened about half a turn. Even if the pre-load collar comes loose now the cranks have no play in them due to the precise spacing. The plastic pre-load collar is crap and if you overtighten it then it will split easily but if its not tight enough it will come loose....but due to my spacers taking up nearly all the slack now instead of the pre-load collar it doesn't matter so much if it comes loose.
