this 27.5 krap is a new thing for Tatoo ---- he's been anti progress for years.. he'd still be riding 24" wheels if he could get his hands on them.. that and old-skool 7spd (not the "new" 7spd).

He can't believe he waited this long to make the switch to 27.5 after testing out only a smattering of other 27'5...

His take on 27.5" --

just rolling along the flat, wide open, XCish stuff, he can't say he can tell the difference but, rolling through the really rocky stuff. Although it's just a slight difference in tire size, it makes a big difference on the trail. Even the worst of the rock gardens are a piece of cake. going up or down hill too

He had mixed emotions about the 10/42 11spd XD cassette. vs a different way of presenting a granny gear..
Is it overkill? not really.. here's what he says happens :

1. you can rip up hills that before put a hurtin' on ya.
2. you can now climb hills that were before nearly impossible
3. the tame hills that didn't really give ya problems before but, they got your heart pumping, well.... those aren't hills anymore, they're just speed bumps.
