Two very different bikes Ninja. I would personally have a nomad and a tallboy if I want a choice. The nomad works great for more aggressive riding and you can bike park it if need be the hightower while good is not as much fun on the way down especially in the air.
@ajax-ripper: I think my thought about swapping to the Hightower revolves around my riding style having changed over the years. Most notably over the past few years I quit jumping and much prefer to hammer natural terrain, even at the bike parks. I built the Nomad and after having it for a little while I got the feeling that it is aimed toward a little more aggressive riding with large jumps and drops and such. I also have the Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt but that has turned into kind of an odd bike for me- I'm not sure I love it.
@ninjatarian: I get that man. I Love my spartan and really enjoy it because it is a downhill bike that I can pedal. I would love a shorter travel 29 for the more XC riding that I end up doing. A hightower does work well for the more decent oriented riding I do and the XC stuff. But i sacrafice some performance in both areas..
@ajax-ripper: I see your point on the Nomad / Tallboy if you had 2 bikes. The way I've setup this Hightower makes the downhill just as good, if not better than the Nomad. It's definitely faster than the Nomad. It's also incredibly fun in the air.
I've had the Nomad and rode it for 900 miles plus, fun bike, but I'd still take the HT.
