Looking good, what fork does this belong to?

I've got a hold of two rock shox charger dampers. for 27,5" pike rct3 160mm and boxxer rc 200mm. They work pretty well, but I find the rubber bladder part to be a weak point in all those designs. I have changed a few on fox forks and rock shox. Now x fusion gets on this rubber train too and their old HLR damper was so well build and strong, it could run for an year without any service and decrease in consistency...

Yes, I have had some of the rubber bladders explode on me. I was able to repair them but it became a very weak point. The HLR damper I have seen on video but yes, it looks very stout and with a cool damping design. The Durolux too has a very stout damper but it was noisy as there is just empty air in the top of the compression, so I drilled a very small hole just 0.5mm at the very top, then I filled the damper with oil, overfilled it and the extra oil now drains out of the top but keeps the shims emerged in oil now so the cavitation or sucking noise is now gone, it feels super smooth now!

@nikoniko: that's a nice mod you did. I love to know when I was able to change even a little in a part and call it a custom tuned afterwards hahaha. Next leve will be to not remove the noise, but make it sing while compressing Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin you would need a few holes than for the different tones haha
Honestly I have a little prejudice towards the durolux. I know there have been different models trough the years, but I have witnessed some failures and play in the lower's bushings. I also believe sometimes here in east europe we get lower quality parts, that look otherwise absolutely the same...you are my source of good news for that fork .

Of course, little by little using you're ingenuity is always fun!
hhahahhahaahhaha That would cool, I would tune it to the song, "its a small world"! hhashaaa

Yes, any brand can have its ups and downs. I had many marzocchi forks over the years, both good and bad. Like the rubber bladder blow up was on a TST damper.

I have had 2 durolux forks, one 2010 and now a 2012.
The only thing bad about both models is about every six months you need to overhaul the air spring as it ends up leaking air and oil into the lowers. Its an easy fix, but I can see how that would be a pain to most riders who never open their parts.

Also, on my current Durolux I ended up swapping the old damper for a new one because the original version's rebound was too fast for me, even after upping to 15wt oil. But the new damper takes 2.5wt oil originally and I upped that to 5wt, now she is buttery smooth!

On a good note, both forks feel very stiff and never ended up with that annoying cracking sound like my Fox 36 and most of my 66s did!

Im sorry to hear that you might be getting lower quality parts in your area.
Its not wise by the companies to do this as they can really lower their reputation fast.
I think thats what happen to Marzocchi as they produced tons of crap forks on lower end complete bikes.

Cool stuff bro!
