when i saw this in a forum thread i was interested to see what you meant, and you must be pretty proud to of kept a frame that long and have it in a crisp working condition. Nice one.
Cheers - what does it feel like to ride? Does the frame bend laterally a lot? Its making me want to ride it Ps can use reply button if you want (I get notifications)
yes, it works great too. It has 5 inches of travel and no pivots. The flex/suspension keeps the back wheel on the ground and the weight of the bike (23.5lbs) makes it a very sweet ride. Great on the real rooty/rocky stuff. I rode this in an all mountain freeride form for 35000kms, the whole time that discipline of bike was being perfected and developed. It still rides like it did the day I bought it too, which was June 1998
Actually, Ibis used the Design from John Castellano. When the co. stopped production in 2002, John took his designs and made his own Frame Building Company called Castellano Designs. His designs included the Silk-Ti/Ripley, a soft tail with 3inches of rear traves using a flat ti chainstay for flex. He still makes these bikes now and I think that the Bow-Ti might also be in his stable of frames. Check em out on www.castellanodesigns.com
