For the drive terrain, it was most down to price. The 11 speed pricing is really reduced, and given its a hardtail...well, it pedals well, so 11-46 is sufficient!

I9 isn't offering their micro spline hub drivers just yet either, which was a major issue

 @Scotj009: thanks! Yeah, the pedals are nice - big comfy platforms, good pins, big over sized bearings, and they aren't all the expensive!

Definitely looking forward to Shimano 12spd XT. I think that's where the rubber with hit the road in terms of value for money in 12 SPD.

 @FLATLlNE: Yeah will be interesting... and a gravel groupset finally, the new ultegra RX is briliant, just need a 1x specific shifter option now!
