Well if you already have Stylo cranks you should get rid of them, because they really are terrible. We've seen so many pairs fail, from the crank arms falling off to them just plain snapping or the bearings failing prematurely. Really, all Truvativ cranks pale in comparison to anything made by Shimano.
well, thanks for your opinion, but i honestly don't think they are terrible at all, and for the price, there wasn't anything better out there new that was light and strong - i was looking for an xc/am crank, and i got it. people run stylos on slalom bikes, they come stock on a lot of a.m. santa cruz build kits, and they come stock on 24 pound xc race bikes.
shimano is a little overpriced, but i'd get the xt cranks if i had 300-500 bucks for a crankset.
i asked someone on here who weighed around 200 and ran stylos on his enduro sx and dirt jump hardtail, he found them to be fine, just flexy. and that was the previous generation.
do you work at a bike shop? "we've seen so many pairs fail"... how many of those are the new 08 versions? just wondering.
1) already have them 2) have you tried the redesigned 08s? 3) i've had the 2008 stylos for 2 months and they've been working great with how i ride (on my previous p2).
