Agreed--when I first went to Colorado in 2010, that's all we had was converted small mtb's 
I don't know how it'll work out for you...but I had to change to a DMR single speed kit. I can't tell if the one you have is spring loaded or not,but I had chain issues with the origin8 one that looks just like it. I think I have pics of the DMR on the 2007 Gary Fisher Bitter in my profile. That bike and kit has been through me--my friend JR--and now my friend jumpingjester, has owned it for going on 3rd season. I think it's on it's 3rd wheelset and 2nd fork. If your chain pops off---switch to the DMR kit.
