Specialized has long used the "Evo" suffix to denote mountain bike models that were built just a little more rugged and rowdy than the standard editions. In the case of the decidedly XC-focused Epic, what results is a machine that is still very well suited to racing, but is far more capable as a general trail rig than other Epics.
