 I don't know, it looks weird, like for the rear suspension to fully work would be to be sitting on the bike, so it would definitively be for XC like mxdirtspinner mentioned. This actually would be great for XC as you wouldn't lose much force with the bike bobbing when pedaling...

 you wouldnt feel it in the pedals... but sitting on that is gonna be a bitch.
