i might be getting one of these but want to know what people think. is it light because i need to be able to throw it about for a bit of street.and is it good for dh because it has 7.5 inch travel

 They weigh 41 lbs IIRC, which is just over 18 kilos. My VP-Free weighs 18kg and I find it fine, but I've not ridden it in anger yet, so I can't really comment. The forks aren't great though on the Big Hit 1.

 That's a good way to do it too. Upgrade all the parts then when it's just the frame holding you back, upgrade that to something better (or more focussed to your riding style).

 what if i get a dhx and custom suspension plates??

 DHX, fine.
Why the suspension plates? There's not benefit to changing them.

 it could give more travel or adjustibility

 They've got adjustable geometry as standard Smile

It's not really worth all that hassle, once you get to that stage you're far better off changing frame to something that pedals better and is better quality and has better geometry.
