you no why im confuced, cas trek has too dj/slopestyle riders but they dont make a slopestyle bike for the public cas based of that i would buy one the first chance i got plus then they wouldnt have cam and semenuk advertising bikes that dont egsist to anyone exsept them!!! in other words, please trek release something like that for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Except the pedaling no good. And I dont want some stupid retort, I know what I am talking about. All ABP does is fix your braking. But I do agree that Trek's styling is very nice.
doesnt matter much about any slopsetyle bike techonlogy, this bike is designed to soak up one bump at a time. thats all a slopestyle course is. for dh you can start to get all into technology, as far as slopsestyle goes i honestly would give it to kona they have a fullsuspesion designed to be single speed so you drop cables and the weight off all the drivetrain.
but why a biiger rotor man?,he doesnt need any special stoping he needs a lighter bike to control. things like smaller discs etc adds up to save alot of weight.for this bike bigger rotors would acctualy be a disidvantage and pointless.
dude, if your getting so into the details.. how much weight is a bigger rotor going to add to your bike? what, 10-15 grams at most? If you think its too heavy for you... start to work out! you might need it if you thnk adding bigger rotors makes your big much heavier. Ya it might be pointless but thats really up to the rider.
your idea is stupid and pointles, theres a reason theres 6 in rotors, ofcourse he could still ride the bike with 8 inch rotors, but it would be stupid and pointless!!
if u actually go through and add up all the little things u do to save weight, it comes out to alot, its not about how strong u are, its just about convenience, why work out at the gym when u could be spending the time riding ur bike anyway
he doesn't use his brakes often enough, or brake hard enough to warrant 8" disc brakes. He's smooth. And yeah. when you save 20-30 grams in heaps of places... it makes a huge difference.
it depends on the course, style, and sectionof the course. He might want to switch gears like two or three times. Either way that looks pretty hardcore.
by the way there are hydro-gyro's out there. there's a german company (the same that make the quad brakes) that have gyros and semenuk does have hydro-gyro's
it prevents cable stretch on his derailluer cable, so he barely ever has to tune his derailuer, like 20 thousand other ppl have said already, its to keep it out of the way
ok ur stupid....we're not talking about the frame mounted shifter, we're talking about the object just under the stem and above the headset, the ways the cables r run its hard to tell wether its a hydro gyro, we all know the thing on the frame is a Sram XO shifter, just shutup and maybe try to process the commments for a little longer before responding
"the point of the shifter is that u dont have a shit load of cabels runing around and thats his slope style bike so he duznt need every gear" surely he should do single speed then ? lol
yes but you could put a chain tensioner, but the only weight u would drop would be from the carbon XO shifter, so u might as well just stay with the gears
Your almost all stupid
its a frame mounted SHIFTER
Theres no hydrolic gyro.
And the new treks have a better linkage system than specialized because the pivot is not around the AXEL thus making it way better.
You're also stupid, no one thinks the shifter on the frame is a "hydrolic" gyro... they're actually talking about a hydraulic gyro which is located under the stem and ontop of the headset. It's hard to tell if it's on in this pic but him and Cam both have them now.
Try and tell me he's going to tailwhip/barspin with a cable that short... He'd kink his rear cable. Cam has the exact same set-up with the shifter on the frame. Its a hydro gyro, hydro gyros don't look the same as regular gyros too.
his cable is simply pre-wund around the headset... like he spun it and didint re-wind it around.. thats why it looks like a hydro gyro..
and, christ, its pretty obvious that thats an x.o shifter on his downtube...
and lastly, atomlab has an hydraulic gyro, and so does Trixter, some euro company.
