I don't think he means to discredit endurance, and regardless of a rider's skill level, they still have to have the intestinal fortitude to huck something that is likely to kill them if they fuck up.

some of the xc courses that riders face in the world cup series is insane. we had a world cup here a while ago and the xc was almost as gnar as the downhill

To whom ever made this picture, Im sure any football player in the nfl would just dominate you. Sure biking is a good sport but why make fun of other sports you didn't try to excel in? or is that because you arn't good enough for any other sports so you sit on the computer and make fun of them?

recklessness got alot of neg. props, but he is sooo right. xc takes endourance and some skill, but it don't take balls!! if balls were required for xc, that would mean it was dangerous. if it WERE dangerous, they would wear something other than that spandex shit!!!

For the XC dissers, it may not be like hucking 30 footers, but it sure takes balls to ride just inches away from a 200 foot cliff, or the ride through a rock garden with tiny little 1.95" tires, or to go down a steep hill, with such a low fork and bars/high seat, and decide: A, apply brakes and risk over the bars, or B, no brakes, and risk losing cotroll??? Not to mention, hitting a moderate sized jump/drop, with the seat at full height!XC takes more balls than you think!

Nope, I am German and US American by birth. But you are right, our football is "their soccer". ;-) And yes, I took that picture. Someyears ago. The guy in it is French.

i have a hardtail not a full suspension
its a KHS not a suburban
and i prefer 10 foot drops but will take a 3 footer if its availible

alright sorry of my error and im not whining and if i sound like it then my bad
also my bike isnt a "sub" its actually a bit to heavy but good enough for me. yes i care about specs and before i buy a part i usually go on MTBR and look it up. thats how i bought my juicy 5. and for colors yes i do stick to a certain color scheme. thats because i dont want my bike to look like some gay pride bike with all of these colors. and im not to sure what wheel size has anything to do with it but i prefer to have 26"
