i never would have thought that an AM 1000 could take a dual crown, doesnt seem like that strong a frame, it only comes stock with like 120mm travel

Actually it comes stock with 140mm travel. I've seen stuff like this done and it's done a great job holding up to whatever I throw at it so far.
