You'll save even a bit more with PC pedals, and an eclat complex PC seat (that seat/post is less than 200g, and only $30). You'd have to slam the seat to make it work tho. That would be insane.
actually pc pedals are heavier and i am getting a new seat and post but i dont run it slammed. cranks are good they are strong and light and steer tube will be shorter when i get my new fork
Saint cranks weigh over 1000 grams, that's not light. XT cranks weigh about 850 grams, and XTR weigh less than that even. XT is the way to go, I never had any problems with mine on my street and all mountain bikes.
Well then Gravity Lights would be a happy medium. They have a (claimed) weight of around 950 grams and seem to be plenty stiff for many top level pros. Also were your XT cranks M770 or M760? Because I know that the M760s aren't as stiff as the newer M770s.
i have had both xt cranks. the new ones are stiffer but the saints are way stiffer and as for the gravity light cranks my friend is always bending the arms on his. when i build my new bike i might go back to xts but i really like the stiffness of the saints and they also have a steel insert in them
