 1, it's wood cause i'd rather make it out of wood, get it right, then copy that over to a piece of alu. plate. Alu is expensive, wood is not. 2. superchargers DON'T get very hot. Turbochargers do. This is due to the fact that turbos are run off the exhaust, where are superchargers are run off of a belt.

 he is useing the MDF to as a layout so he has the right measurments and doesn't screw up on cutting the aluminum.

 thats what i thought, not a very good idea as a supercharger gets red hot
