if you want a frame that will fit 26inchers without a problem you should've gone with eastern26. you can also get shorter chain stays i think with the eastern26 frames (black betty?). i doubt you'll be able to do anything about that problem u got there. even with a wider rim i would think the side of the tires would hit the stays or something.
high bb and bad clearance is gonna be a problem. you might wanna stay off the mud and also keep your tyre hard otherwise it may rub when it compresses. shoulda just run 24s
no. i am running 26es for a reason, i ride more than just street/park/dj.
and compressing means it won't rub.
high bb isn't a problem at all, it's got 3mm bb rise. look at dobermanns, they have 15-20mm bb rise (15mm with an 80mm fork, more since a lot of people run 100mm or even more). doesn't look like a problem to me!
as for bad clearance, this is a 2.1" tire.
listen, i know you're all for 24s and all, but in this case it's simply not a problem at all!
i run my tires at 60-80 psi, so far i don't feel anything, i don't think a tire would bulge upward 2 full mm anyway! there's actually more space than what the picture shows.
I can see why youve done that, and it probably rides really sweet because of it, but it does make you wonder why NS havent made the chainstays shorter? Becasue if you can run a 26 in there, a 24 must have alot of extra space!
no idea, but the dropouts are long... this is slammed for a 26 and it's an inch back in the dropouts, so it makes sense that a 24 would be an inch forward in the dropouts (1 inch less radius).
honestly, it might. take a look at my dropouts, they're only 7/8 on the dropouts lol, but i have a huge washer so it's absolutely fine and not sketchy at all.
if it won't fit you can always stick a half link on your chain or something.
nah, it's the geo man. this suburban has a 21.8" top tube versus the near-24" top tube that the suburbans do, and the majesty is $280 CAD more for me to get.
with this, i get a top tube length more suitable for my height, and the shortest chainstays that will still fit a 26" wheel, and a neutral bb height (suburbans and majesties have a bit of a bb drop, dobermanns have a bb rise, but this is in between since it's 1" higher than running 24" wheels).
