Pedals are a standard Wellgo flat, I also run mallet 3's for clips. Gravity light guide is there for the obvious reason of lightweight protection and to maintain a straight chainline. Its not on the other side of the cranks if thats what your getting at. Its just on the inside on the drive side, its just a half guard, only covers the bottom portion under the frame/ front of the sprocket to save weight.
