Half links are piss easy to fit. The link you get should have a screw on extension. First pull the chain taught and unlink the uneccerserray chaink from the point where it is taught. After doing this simply put your extended link through the linkage you have left from removing the unnecerserray. After that simply put your chain on the chain holds on your de-linkers and screw on top of the extended link you've placed. once it's through with equal amount either side of the link take off the extension and spin backwards your chain for a minute or so. if the chain isn't taught enough pull your back wheel back. Once that's all done ride it for 10 minutes or so to give it it's first stretch and then you're done! Sounds hard but really it's a doddle.

hmm, i alredy fitted the chain then changed my rear cog for a smaller size so iv used tht thing:S can u get masterlinks like for a 9spd chain?

Yes you can get master links for a 9 speed chain. Chainreactioncycles.co.uk supply a variety of them.
The half link chain you have, why don't you just reuse it? You said you'd switched to a smaller cog; surely with a smaller cog all you need to do is take out a few links?

Oh and you don't NEED the extension link screw. If you use tweezers to hold the link in place while someone screws your de-linker down is should pop in again no problems. It's fiddely but it can be done. (I had to do it myself and it took forever)

if none of that works just buy a new half-link or buy a chain tension or just push or pull your back wheel forwards (may mess with disc brake though)

and now i need fit the half link bastard chain..tips any1??
havent rode it on these new tires yet i have a flat....brilliant start.
got a brake just waiting put it on.
