Part of the trail was in a dried out river-like area, so there was slate and stuff. This was before I had a real DH bike and armor. Yeah rocks will do that haha.
It's interesting though, I think it'd take stitches over a cracked or broken bone I guess. Seems less serious than a broken bone. Not sure which is cheaper though!
That's a lot of stitches I had 9 and 11. From a deep slice I've got a little bundle of nerves (like a small blob of flesh) on the outside of my elbo, so anytime I land/slide on that arm, oh man it feels so weird that it hurts. I don't lean on that side like I used to!
It gets better, since I also semi-nutted myself (more like my peepee slaming on the toptube) I had to get an ultra sound down there, it was terrible. Also had to hold massive amounts of liquid (being injected, not drunk) in my bladder FOR AN HOUR, so that they could take a video x-ray while urinating, that too was also terrible. 8hr hospital trip.
The nutting was not avoidable, but if I had armor my arm would have been fine.
From what I hear, I'm lucky being ok, I know there are a few out there that arn't so lucky.
