After '89 and the fall of the communism it began to collapse and almost disappear from the market. Revived in 2008 it is back with completely new collection of bikes. This is one of them, a downhill Black Jack frame, with only 3.7kg on scale (with damper hardware). Surprisingly it appears to be less versatile than M3 I had before, but still it looks good.
Rest of the descroption: it holds 83mm shell so if you never had it before, be prepared. Chainguide had to be tuned a bit to clearly fit the frame. It's a bit too short for me as it is a Small size, so the top tube is way too short for a person with over 1,80m height. The only option to win this battle is to get a seatpost with offset like Thomson Setback or Ritchey WCS. At this point it's possible to use Boxxer with short crown, but our distributor didn't have any. Vivid is rather weak when compared with DHX, but maybe it needs some time to work a bit harder to get it's top performance.
First of all, I had no choice but to take the only size there is (for now). In height it's almost the same as Medium M3 I had before, but the top tube is too short and as I spoke with my friend, who has designed this frame, this was because of the collision between rear wheel and seat. All I say is that despite the straight destination of M3, I was bale to use it on daily basis, no shit. Of course people get use to certain situations and conditions, but the M3s suspension armed with DHX was simply the benchmark for any long travel bike. And at last, this is just the first impression with Black Jack and Vivid shock. It must be something wrong just with my shock, because you're not the first person who writes his best words about Vivid. I hope everything will get sorted out soon.
and how can you criticize the bike if you chose the wrong size? Less versatile than a M3? Is that even possible? A M3 is a pure DH bike. Why do you think the Vivid is weak? It is clearly the superior shock.
