I love how you spent roughly 1 grand on a wheelset but couldnt justify 40 bucks extra to save a half ounce. Maybe on that day you didnt take a poo? How are those wheels holding up so far?
Do ya mean on the rims? Yah, there were a few issues with getting them in, so I just went for the 6000 series. They're holding up great. I can't see why everyone calls 'em weak.
I expect to EVENTUALLY break a spoke or two, but I know people who have gone 3-4 years on ti rear wheels and replaced only rims and hubs. They're hardly weak.
Uh, completely disagree there. Once they stretch and set you're good. They are definitely less strong than steel though, so they can be prone to snapping.
-a ti spoke wheel builder.
I was going to get the 7000, but they're not $140 each and I couldn't justify spending $40 more per rim for literally half an ounce. They're the exact same design, so they're the same strength.
Selling the rear hub for $400. It's a full ti profile. Spokes not for sale. Check out transition and 3ride, they have the spokes there. About $100 for a 18 pack. So a bit over $400 retail for those.
no i did the math... its actualy 2.50 per spoke USD and about 2.90 CAD and on danscomp there is no shipping if your purchase is over $85 so its about 215 CAD
More people don't buy them because they are ridiculously expensive. Even at my cost they are about $50 for a box (which only has half a wheel's worth of spokes in it).
They're cheaper than that in the states. A 36 pack at retail down there for a BMX bike is about $80. You may mean MTB, so I don't know. I got all my spokes for about $200 CAD after taxes and shipping. In Canada, it'd have been over $500. They're $120 for an 18 pack, so $480 in spokes before tax.
It was a lot, but it wasn't as much as people expect. This wheelset in Canada would be pushing $1200. I ordered stuff from the states, where Ti is cheap, and saved some money. I'd say I spent just under a grand.
yeah they are nice and if u got the money why not ... random question: do you know how much ti spindle will save about? im curious i dont know much about ti other then its lighter and the price.
kk next year i might get one for my macneil conjoined. that would be a light set up. its its half a pound its ok but less its not that much i find. 1664 makes one that is like 115$. pretty cheap.
if thats how you spell "no" in german, then yes. i had my dogs trained in german, so i didnt have to spell it out for them. hahaha... so, Neine... cool. how do you spell lay? Blieben?
