 Forks dilemma :]
After removing OEM Fox TALAS 32 RL and before eventually sticking to the TALAS 36 my REIGN had two Marzocchi trials.
- I did not like the Fox 32 as I thought the bike deserves chunkier forks with 20mm axle.
- First to try was my used Z1 Light (still one of the best forks ever in my opinion) - easy to adjust and with a fantastic RC2 damping system but it lacks the QR axle.
- Then there was a Z1 SL (even lighter than LightSmile in rare army green matching the frame – I only managed to have one short ride with it as I run out of patience with silly adjusting through 4 air chambers – WTF?!
- Finally the 36 arrived – still don't like it in grey (what a boring colour!!) but so simply to use and noticeably stiffer over outdated Z1’s. If TALAS 36 was made in white I would be first in the queue to get it Smile

If the Z1 Light would be stiffer it become the best fork ever Wink I've never ridden 36 TALAS but theoretically could replace my Light because of travel adjust & stiffness. Does it work good as Light?

Fox's damping system feels different to Marzocchi.
As you know I loved the Z1 Light. I have not ridden the 36 hard and long enough to write a proper review but there is nothing on that forks that would bother me - adjustments works fine, stiffness is better than Z1, the 20mm QR rocks, it will use the whole travel when you land hard (but will not bottom-out), the feel is very buttery and it really sticks to the ground, it is also lighter at around 2.3kg so overall a great tool.

TESTED! I used the forks during three weekends in Polish Beskidy Mountains and I must say it does the job very well. I like climbing so I found the travel adjustment feature very useful - better and easier to engage than Marzocchi's ETA. This RC2 model offers huge range of customization and I played with the compression adjust a lot to find the perfect behave for different type of riding. The forks have bedded in and feel glued to any surface at any speed + added rigidity and QR 20mm - all this make it a certain winner over my previous Z1 forks and a vary happy owner at the same time :] Highly recommended!
