I just mailed this to Land Of Leather - I was bored today, needed a good laugh!
Good evening, I write regarding the rather ambiguous and misleading name under which you trade. Having received an advertising pamphlet through my door boasting of a Land of Leather, I visited my local branch, on the Lakeside Retail Park, West Thurrock; I feel it worth informing you of the store in question as it may be an individual mistake which you need to pursue internally. Having expected a Land of Leather, imagine my disgust as I arrived to find nothing of the sort - simply a standard retail unit selling leather furniture but nothing more - certainly nothing to justify the rather outlandish claims suggested by the name. In fact, the only leather on show was that which is involved in the upholstery of the aforementioned furniture; the staff were dressed normally in standard polyester and cotton clothing (there was a chap in what might have been leather brogues, though I can't be sure of their authenticity), and the floors, walls and counters were no more leather-based than those you might find in B&Q, for example. As you can imagine I left the store disappointed and very angry, and have no plans to return until I have an explanation and assurances that the situation will be rectified so that the store fulfills the promise in the name. Yours, Mr. T Ellis
Good evening,
I write regarding the rather ambiguous and misleading name under which you
trade.
Having received an advertising pamphlet through my door boasting of a Land
of Leather, I visited my local branch, on the Lakeside Retail Park, West
Thurrock; I feel it worth informing you of the store in question as it may
be an individual mistake which you need to pursue internally.
Having expected a Land of Leather, imagine my disgust as I arrived to find
nothing of the sort - simply a standard retail unit selling leather
furniture but nothing more - certainly nothing to justify the rather
outlandish claims suggested by the name.
In fact, the only leather on show was that which is involved in the
upholstery of the aforementioned furniture; the staff were dressed normally
in standard polyester and cotton clothing (there was a chap in what might
have been leather brogues, though I can't be sure of their authenticity),
and the floors, walls and counters were no more leather-based than those
you might find in B&Q, for example.
As you can imagine I left the store disappointed and very angry, and have
no plans to return until I have an explanation and assurances that the
situation will be rectified so that the store fulfills the promise in the
name.
Yours,
Mr. T Ellis
