did they actually hold up and why are they so heavy ??

Oh ya they held up. I ran an entire race with a flat front and this course was gnarly. I got down and all I had to do was take a file and some sandpaper to it and now its fine. There made from a fibre composite witch makes them heavy but indestructible.
