Why do you have the fork topped out?

I don't. It's an 8" travel fork.

Weird. Normally they have some kind of range for stanchion adjsutment.

They do. The lower crown is just below MAX and the sticker is on the back side of the stanchion

Okay, see that's what I meant by topped out. Crowns as high as they'll go.

Ah. Well it's close, but not all the way topped. There's about 2 inches or so between min and max and it's at about 1.25"
