Continental do make some niiice tyres though. The Mountain Kings are sweet.

Those Mountain Kings are pretty crap Razz My Dad had them on his bike. The have super flimsy sidewalls so they puncture really easily Confused

Can you use an Marzocchi Axle? That would be perfect for me!
  • 1 2
 Clearly...
  • 2 0
But the threaded biton the drop outs? Can you just put it in?
  • 1 2
 ...yes.
  • 2 0
That wouldn't work properly. On marzocchi forks the axle is held in place with 2 pinch bolts and the ones on each side of the axle. Rock shox forks don't have pinch bolts. And don't act like i'm an idiot. I know my stuff.
  • 1 3
Well you clearly are an idiot and you certainly dont know 'your stuff' as this set up has worked great for the past 3 months. Just because it isnt recommended, doesnt mean it will fail catastrophically.
  • 2 0
I wish you the best luck with it, it's just that when you tighten the bolts on each sides you flex the fork lowers. With a normal maxle you don't do that. I don't know if you ever took apart a maxle? You screw the axle in the lowers so it isn't loose. And then with the lever the threated bit on the axle expands. What you do is just flex the lowers to make it fixed. That flex can't be good for the arch. But it's your problem.

I know what your talking about, and I see your point, but I couldn't care less because it they broke it would be a good excuse to replace them, as they aren't exactly working great. It works great right now, will I see problems in the future... very unlikely, but maybe. Whatever.
