the "vrommmmmmpshshshsshsh" thing you are talking about is either the blow off valve, or the wastegate. The purpose of both being to release the pressure thats built up in the intake system of the motor depending on wether the throttle is open or closed, in order to relieve stress on the motor.

that nitrous oxide is an expensive gas that isnt too abundant, costs alot of money to install, is illegal (well in canada atleast), and isnt too good for your car ...but is hella fun in nfs games.
