kona five-0 frame, paint stripped off and then bare metal polished at the front, ball burnished at the back

no you dont have to, but you could do, mine has no laquer just metal polish

no it doesn't, the frame has got loads of layers of polish on it anyways, so gives it plenty of protection either way
