Hmmm is there not too much stress on the arch of the fork? Neat idea but I wouldn't think of doing it that way (imagine if you nose case!), I'd just have the rubber whatever-it-is attach to the lowers just below the arch.

 That is super cool though that your bf builds or designs that kind of stuff!

 it's not too hard. kind of counter-intuitive to regular bike riding. fun as hell though.

 my bf works for the designer. the guy designed the frame and mounts and figured out all the geometry. check 'em out. Lenz Sport...the guy makes downhill and xc bikes too.

 Winter Park has a fleet, so you can rent at that slope. $100 gets you lessons, rental and pass for the day. The green ones are pretty cool, too.
