That lens is horrible! It is either the 100-400 or the 28-300. I had the 28-300mm and it sucked so much dust into the lens elements, sensor and focusing screen it drove me nuts!... The changing aperture is a pain as well. Great for versatility on a bright sunny day but horrible for a lens that will primarily see outdoor use. Get a 24-70 and a 70-200 2.8 FTW.

Vppbikedeefer, dont jump to so many conclusions. First of all its a 100-400 and its amazing, second it is a 7D with a grip.

It may be a 28-300, it would be better for in the forest shooting especially with that 30D and a 1.6 crop sensor...
