 its coz of a flash dumbass. look at the snow out the the right of the pic. its lit up in line with the rider. he is jumping off of the bench, over the wooden block and onto the ramp. people can bunny hop higher than this also. so i do not belive it is "fake and gay" as u so suggest.

 i am talking about how there is light coming from the right hand side of the photo and is directed at the biker. this then causes the area and any objects in the path of the light (in this case, the flash) to be illuminated. therefore the snow is lit up, the biker is lit up and also the concrete block on the left hand side of the picture is lit up. flashes have a very direct line of illumination so things that are just of the side (the concrete block on the left) will only be slightly illuminated whilst objects directly in line with the flash will be highly illuminated, giving a very high contrast in low light. and also the levels and curves are probably adjusted slightly (is actually done in Photoshop, but does not make a photo fake, just more aestheticly pleasing). and gives a high contrast to those objects that are more highly illuminated.
