If you have a 36, it's more obvious. In the other picture, notice how I've got a spring, a bolt, and a little lever sitting on the scale? That's basically a lever that flips out to give you more leverage in unscrewing the axle. I took that off. Now I just slot an allen key where it used to be, and I get even more leverage.

 Ah yes, I did notice the other odds and ends in the other picture but sadly my mind did not connect the two. That makes a lot more sense now.
