 hi. do you remove air piston through the top cap or bottom by removing snap rings? what is better?
Have you tried using 80w gear oil on the air piston instead of float fluid?

 There is only one way to remove the rod from the fork and that is through the crownside of the fork.
I got a special tool to remove it without the risk of damaging the air seal.
But, to be honest, you have to be some kind of noob to damage the airseal.
I always use Float fluid, but company's like Rock Shox use just some fork oil (15wt) on the piston.
