how about everyone stop using this picture for social purposes and someone buy the fork?? getting tired of checking my dashboard just to read another purposeles comment. thanks
Bottom line... I have several shocks and forks from Craig at Avalanche and have been using them since he opened his doors for business.... If you like highly tuneable, highly durable, hand machined, "proper" tolerances, hand fitted and measured components, then Avalanche is for you... Yes they may be a tad heavier than the latest "4 lb world cup DH fork" but you will not have to be concerned about it letting you down or blowing apart or snapping in half on run 7... etc.... This stuff is the most bullet proof suspension with many other positive attributes available to the mortal rider.. I have worked in the industry for many years and these shocks and forks are the ONLY ones that I have NEVER seen fail. And it is really true that the suspension used on 99% of the suspension frames out there, make it feel almost bottomless. I do also have Zocci and R shox and they have their place, but if you want near factory/elite/tuned for you and your ride, suspension, then avalanche is the only one to ride IMO.... These people are concerned about durability, and proper engineering of big hit/ speed hit forks.....read ...MOTO-X background !! They know their stuff and it works and it lasts !
that is the best fork for downhill or free riding why because craig at avalanche has a full machine shop and has a motorcross back round and help a lil company call FACTORY CONNECTION get off the ground.. i have had avalanche stuff from 2004 untill know and i hate riding a downhiller that does not have it makes a 7inch travel feel like a 10 unreal !!!
obviously you haven't riden one. and yes it feels a 100 times better than the 2010 boxxer wc. It is heavy, but you will never see it snap in half which we all know boxxers do. so thats that
the fact that you can use moto seals is a really good reason. you will be able to replace the seals for years to come. furthermore those forks wont blow up/fail like newer marazocchi and rockshock forks do either. so basically they can be your forks for life if you maintain them well.
