Hi Ben, Yes the shock is 241mm and at the moment my bb height is 340mm, but I can make it a little bit higher or much more lower if I want, because my fork is raised. Now I find the geometry perfect, but the rear travel is not so perfect. I calculated it 189mm in the 210mm position and it is very linear and it bottoms easily, but it is ok for now. I couldn't use the 267mm shock, because it rubs the frame. What do you ride now? Adjustments and stuff...
Yeah, I know what you mean about the linkage shifted forward and too linear. Do you have access to a drill and thread tap? I would mod the linkage and put the front shock mount back on then you can get it lower and more progressive. I have done that to a bunch of friend's bikes who have the short. I have one friend on a short with a 10.5" shock but it is a Vivid and he also has a modded link. Let me know if you want any help with the link.
I am riding a couple of proto bikes right now and I can't talk too much about it for now. They are low, slack and eat up the rough sections very well. I am having lots of fun on my protos.
With some Formula One brakes you could save more weight and have more power, by the way.
