haha looks like the new shock is touching the top tube...i'm sure it isn't, but it looks funny from this angle

I noticed the same thing. Even if it's not actually touching, it's still too close for comfort.

That's the cable. And why is it too close for comfort? That's the fully-extended position - any more compression will only put it farther away from the tube.
