This is a design I am working on. It's a dragon backpiece I want to design... I know the head is VERY non-traditional, but I am working on a traditional one too, to appease THAT other crowd. I thought I would change things up a bit with this one.

man i copied it just to see if i could do it came out ok but urs looks better

not very long. I just did the roough shape with the pencil, then with a thicker pencil like a shader, 4B), I started making the more definite curves, once I liked it, I used a pen marker.
Total drawing time maybe 1 hour? I did it on and off for a couple of minutes when I found time last week.
