frame back from welders and i smoothed out and the welds and dents that were in the frame...compared to the photos of the welds before body n paint its hard to see that we added the extra plate around the outer front of the head tube..no matter how bad the welds look to start they always can be cleaned up and hidden

sorry to say this but you fail at taking picture's, every one except with the paint on is unfocused. and I hope you heat treated the frame after welding? otherwise it's going to crack again right next to that plate.

lol thats cause for the body work photos i only had my cell phone with me to take the photos ..and yes is was def heat cured dry.i painted it over 2 weekends at my friends auto body shop..so ya i know all about uncured paint jobs and won't even bother painting a frame unless its done right

yeah it's about time they actually make those cam's abit better, but it's just not-done in this age to upload unfocused pic's tbh lol. i'm not talking about the paint drying but after welding it needs heat treatment otherwise it will crack again.

ya i normaly don't bother putting fuzzy ones ..but in this case it was to document the frame as it went along....the frame was at the paint shop while i did the body work and was not till i got the first session of paint on it that i had it home to take better photos..it not that bad it was just 3 shots of the body work.thats all no biggie ...no as for heat i'm kinda not sure i follow you talking about after the crack was welded and the plates were welded on..and then that the frame needed to be heat treated afterwords before starting body and paint work correct...

exactly, cause the heat from welding makes the metal around more brittle. heat treating will sort that.

ok well never knew that about that..and don't think it was but i don't see any future problems cause the other bikes so far that have had prior work done is all good no issues..well so far ..i'll keep that in mind next time..i'm not the welder but will mention that to him and see what he says..thanks it makes sense to me what your saying..but not sure why its not done but will inquire more about this thanks for the tip

Steel generally doesn't need heat treating Wink . Aluminium is the stuff that's generally sketchy after welding.

ya i was kinda think about that and honestly i am not worried about it all Smile no mater what i know its strong and i wont have any issues with it that's for sure ..I've tried it out well over the past few days..and its nice and stiff and perfect..my friends bb was rewedded completely last spring and still nothing wrong with either ..so for sure you right and i feel fine riding it ..and ya lol Aluminum i would have just thrown it in the trash..its never worth fixing

It may not need it but just to be safe it is better to do it. But yeah with alum it is way more important, hat's off if you can repair it more than decently.
