Thanks man! For this I use a 10.5mm fisheye, 24-70mm & a 70-200mm all f2.8's... good glass is def a priority & am waiting on the D700 upgrade, but the D70 is tops for flash work in bright light.
Awesome - cheers for the help! I am a total beginner when it comes to photography and will be using it for shooting DH riding - most likely in low light areas. Would the D70 be good for this?
if you're not going to be using flashes it's not good for that kind of thing at all, unless you like really grainy images. I'd say go for something a bit newer, the ISO sensitivity on the D70 sucks & will need it in low light, anything newer will be better. The D5000 is a good entry level cam, otherwise the D90 is good value for money.
use an old D70 for most of my action stuff, but it's not really about the camera, it's about the way you use it. Photography is about composition, light & timing, not megapixels, fast frame rates & circuit boards. I just like my D70 for the faster sync speeds, other than that it's really nothing special.
Cheers
