the cold weather doesn't seem to have done much damage too the protective moss, good news for you then

ye its surviving the cold weather. bad news is most of the lips haven't got that much moss on them.

how do you get it to grow on your jumps?

You have to have really hard packed dirt otherwise it gets washed away before the moss has time to get established, and the other thing is it helps if you have some organic material in your dirt as this provides nutrients for the moss
