To add a serious reply to your question; I've got an FR20 in Long, I'm 6'1" and it feels perfect for me.
I've dropped the front down to 140mm travel with some fox 36's and dropped the back to 135mm travel with a 214mm shock mated to 222mm mount to make it more of a trail bike and it is like nothing I've ridden before. SO SO nice. Chuckable. Amazing pop. Worth every penny (and more!!)

Im thinking that the long frame is very short and the short frame is very long.....Really WTF do you think it means

well for an excact cpmparison you could look it up on scotts HP or google. but the main difference is about 2.5cm shorter wheelbase and a 2.5cm shorter top tube...hope that helps.

No that one rally isn't, that is a shit deal, I found a new one of these for under 1300 plus you can buy this years fr30 for about the same. Look at my bike I got that for only like £100 more. Also for frame sizes, in terms of height unless your are a freaking midget and like 5-4 then small, or like 6-4 then large size won't matter. The small frame will suit more free ride set up and uses with maybe some part or street. The long more dh oriented.
