Sorry for the late reply, I just went to see if they'd fit and realised what you meant, I'll buy a file and do that I think, I like the idea of steering corners with cross bar levers rather than drop brake levers, then riding straights with the drops.
Yep I'm going to start on flats just to get a little used to riding 700c wheels first, although what did you think to riding on drops when you rode your Kona? Is it easy or do you have to adjust to riding drops compared to risers/flats?
Actually what I found interesting was the balance on my Kona was much better compared to the MTB's. It's got nothing to do with the drop bars I know. As for the geometry of this bike... It's interesting. I enjoyed it except for the part where the uneven icy trails rattled my brain. I can feel it move much faster with less effort even with the Conti Speed Kings 35mm. When the roads dry I'll try the road tires. I also feel when holding the bottom of the drop bars it's quite a bit too crunched or awkward feeling. When I put my hands on top of the brakes it's much better. Try them if you have them
Ah okay I was just worried about the handling but I'll take your word for it. I have to see if my other half will have the spare money before I get my bike built for drop bar brake levers and I'll go for drops then, if I get along with the drops I can sell or keep the flats as a spare for when I want to commute instead of race.
