 I won't deny that it's damn high. It really was a rushed task, 1 hour at home depot, then 6 hours later (lots were trial and error).

The thing is it had to be easy for your fingers to get access to the plate, and vice verca with the camera's thread. At the same time, wood is much easier to work with.

Now that I look at it there are def. much better solutions, but like I said it was the first design idea that popped into my head haha. It's damn solid though.
