Nice... I should have gotten red nipples on my custom rear wheel. Would have cost a fair bit more though because 1) They would be alloy, not brass and 2) They would be colored.
Yeah, I got brass for the sake of price. But I did get the strongest BMX rim ever made ... that sure wasnt cheap. I also got one of the best hubs too (now I wish I had gotten a different color, like red). I got regular straight gauge spokes though (stronger and cheaper!).
I`ve got gold brass nipples coming, a new designed rim, brand new designed hubs that I`m testing for Bombshell, and... I want to say Ti spokes, but I`m not sure.. I think just black straight guage spokes as well.
My friend go to ride the prototype tree hubs. They loosened up and because of their 'special design' they arent able to be adjusted and it's supposed to make them so that it is impossible for them to come loose. I just hope they fixed that before they went into production...
Yeah... then without telling, he traded wheelsets to a guy with dual profile mini's and ribcages. IDK what rims were on the tree set though. This friend of mine is kind of a dick... he still owes me $25 from since before new years because I let him take my JCPCs. I told him if he doesnt have the money next time I see him that I'm taking them back and putting my used plastics on his bike
Usually my STP. But that just went to my dads house, so I`ll be riding a park bike. Looking for a used innexpensive, but still dependable one. Lol, might just build one up from my old race bikes.....
I'd sell you my frame (full cro-mo, specs on buy/sell on my profile). But you are a bit too far. Unless there is a USA address I can ship it to for you. I dont like to ship internationally.
Does it have the same internals as the chris king mtb hubs? The mtb hubs have always worked fine for me. My cousin builds a wheelset with them for almost every bike he gets (which is a lot).
It does. The guy I traded hubs with got the lbs to grease the shit out of it. I'm drying it out and putting new super lightweight oil in it tomorrow. Hopefully they hold up until the new wheels get here.
Also, why are you running a full half link chain? Especially for racing it seems like you would want something that would stand up to tons of pedal pressure.
Because it's the chain that I've had the most luck with. I legitemately snap every full link chain that gets put on any bike I ride.. I have yet to find a fully that I haven't snapped.
I'll give it a try if this one blows. But so far it's good.
This is the one that Avent Bombshell's owner suggested, after I asked for an absolutely bombproof chain.
Uhh, just desintegrates really... Usually the link is shredded to peices, and the pins are snapped. But so far I`ve had luck with hollow half links, so I think I`ll stick with em.
