On the ugly end of the bike Frown My new wheels will have black tensioners and an all black wheel with gold nipples.
  • 1 0
Nice... I should have gotten red nipples on my custom rear wheel. Would have cost a fair bit more though because 1) They would be alloy, not brass and 2) They would be colored.

Believe it or not, they are brass. I have a spare one and they are heavy as titties. But still take colouring really well, and arent too pricy.
  • 1 0
Yeah, I got brass for the sake of price. But I did get the strongest BMX rim ever made Smile ... that sure wasnt cheap. I also got one of the best hubs too (now I wish I had gotten a different color, like red). I got regular straight gauge spokes though (stronger and cheaper!).

I`ve got gold brass nipples coming, a new designed rim, brand new designed hubs that I`m testing for Bombshell, and... I want to say Ti spokes, but I`m not sure.. I think just black straight guage spokes as well.

My friend go to ride the prototype tree hubs. They loosened up and because of their 'special design' they arent able to be adjusted and it's supposed to make them so that it is impossible for them to come loose. I just hope they fixed that before they went into production...

 Ew.. Loose hubs.. That`s nayusty.
  • 1 0
Yeah... then without telling, he traded wheelsets to a guy with dual profile mini's and ribcages. IDK what rims were on the tree set though. This friend of mine is kind of a dick... he still owes me $25 from since before new years because I let him take my JCPCs. I told him if he doesnt have the money next time I see him that I'm taking them back and putting my used plastics on his bike lol

I think that's what he said when I asked him too. I think he's 14.

I turn 16 tomorrow (it's past midnight) and get my license (April 6th).
  • 1 0
I`m 16, haven`t even gotten my learners... I bike everywhere... lol
  • 1 0
Apparently! What do you ride? Your race bike?
  • 1 0
Usually my STP. But that just went to my dads house, so I`ll be riding a park bike. Looking for a used innexpensive, but still dependable one. Lol, might just build one up from my old race bikes.....

I'd sell you my frame (full cro-mo, specs on buy/sell on my profile). But you are a bit too far. Unless there is a USA address I can ship it to for you. I dont like to ship internationally.
  • 1 0
My uncle always has an address he ships too.. I`ll have to see if the big guy at Avent/Bombshell is willing to cut me a deal on a Dj/4x bike first.
  • 1 0
ok... just let me know when you find out.
  • 1 0
 Thanks dude, will do.
  • 1 0
 CK hub?
  • 1 0
Yepp. Their a total POS hub too. Hate Kings, it's my back-up wheelset until Jiri at Bombshell sends me the Proto's I'm testing for him.
  • 1 0
Does it have the same internals as the chris king mtb hubs? The mtb hubs have always worked fine for me. My cousin builds a wheelset with them for almost every bike he gets (which is a lot).
  • 1 0
It does. The guy I traded hubs with got the lbs to grease the shit out of it. I'm drying it out and putting new super lightweight oil in it tomorrow. Hopefully they hold up until the new wheels get here.

Also, why are you running a full half link chain? Especially for racing it seems like you would want something that would stand up to tons of pedal pressure.
  • 1 0
Because it's the chain that I've had the most luck with. I legitemately snap every full link chain that gets put on any bike I ride.. I have yet to find a fully that I haven't snapped.

K710 without the cutouts? Is that one a shadow interloc v2?
  • 1 0
Nope, it's a K710 HL. And so far, it's great. I'm selling my One with the KwegCo. So I thought I'd give this a try, it's had some decent reviews.

And yes, I've snapped K710's... Frown

 How about a KMC 415?
  • 1 0
I'll give it a try if this one blows. But so far it's good. This is the one that Avent Bombshell's owner suggested, after I asked for an absolutely bombproof chain.
  • 1 0
 hmmm... interesting.
  • 1 0
How do they usually break for you? Do the side plates snap, or does it just explode, or what?
  • 1 0
Uhh, just desintegrates really... Usually the link is shredded to peices, and the pins are snapped. But so far I`ve had luck with hollow half links, so I think I`ll stick with em.
  • 1 0
That is a bit opposite of what I would think would work, but whatever Razz ... I cant even find that chain on KMC's website.
  • 1 0
Hmm... That`s sketchy... Yeah Jiri at Bombshell was like `` Here, I give you this chain, if you break it.... Well.... `` Haha
