mine doesnt touch the chainstays, but i did have some trouble alligning the top part of the guide to not rub because of the bighits 51mm chainline. i had to experiment with different sized spacers i had lying around to get a decent fit. not perfect, but good enough. if you dont have much mechanical knowledge, id just get a different guide to avoid all the fiddling you'll probably have to do, or just have a shop install it. just for reference, i have an '08 bighit 1
i actually rawed and repainted my bike twice before rawing it and leaving it that way, mostly just because of sketchy spray paint jobs. its totally worth it to leave it raw, just clear coat it and never worry about scratches again
How much different are they from the previous LG1's cos' I have just got one and it doesn't fit too great cos' of the chain stays...you say you modded your chain ring, in what way?
well, its lighter for one. it also has little indicators for different size chainrings. you can also move the taco around. i mis typed, i meant that i had to mod my cranks. i had to shave down some metal on the inside where the crank attaches to the chainring, to keep it from rubbing the chainguide. it was a pain to install, but worth it now
